Curriculum Overview

Conversational text and comprehensive review questions will have kids’ remembering details and eagerly waiting to hear more about the wonderous world that surrounds them. Each lesson consists of a Teaching Time and a Hands-on Time, and is designed to be completed in about one week. Activities, reproducibles, vocabulary/memory work, and additional reading can all be integrated into the lessons at the teacher’s discretion. Beginning with Creation, students will explore cells, the biospheres, trees, plants, birds, humans, reptiles, insects and water creatures. 291 pages, reproducibles, supplemental activities and an answer key are included. Designed for 3rd to 6th graders, though content may be adjusted for younger/older students.

Our Review

We  all really liked using this book. The author includes everything you need to provide your kids with science lessons for the year (35 lessons total). Each lesson has a reading section (the lesson), memory work and vocabulary, diagrams and/or coloring page and then a hands-on activity (using household items). Also included are reproducible forms, maps, memorization lists, scripture memory verses, additional coloring pages, recipes, activities, answer key and a resource list for additional reading.

The only thing I disliked is that it is hard to make copies of the pages. I carefully pulled out all of the pages, hole punched them and stuck them in a binder. Otherwise, I absolutely love this program and plan on using the others about Earth/space and chemistry.
